Syllabus
Theory
Upon completing the course you will be familiar with: • Viticulture and winemaking: understanding how terroir, climate and production techniques influence wine profile. • International wine regions: knowing the characteristics of varieties and regional styles. • Professional tasting techniques: learning to systematically analyze and evaluate quality, complexity and aging potential. • Legislation, labeling and trends: interpreting labels and understanding market dynamics.
Tasting
At Level 3, the WSET systematic tasting technique is central: we link theory and practice to understand what we taste and the origin of flavors. This approach trains you in analytical and professional evaluation of different wines. At Panama Wine Academy you will taste exceptional wines and also more accessible options, essential for learning to evaluate quality across all market segments.
Exam
Theory: 50 multiple choice questions and 4 short answer questions. A minimum of 55% is required. Tasting: blind evaluation of 2 still wines (one white and one red). A minimum of 55% is required in both. Resit: if you fail one part, you only retake that section.
