Syllabus
Theory
The WSET Level 1 course offers an introduction to the world of wine. You will learn about the main grape varieties, different wine styles and the most recognized regions where grapes are grown. We introduce systematic wine tasting, tasting 12 wines in total. We guide you step by step through the tasting technique. At Level 1 we start from zero, so each student can become familiar with this method comfortably. Wine tasting is not part of the exam at this level! We also focus on food and wine interaction to create successful pairings.
Tasting
Systematic tasting of 12 wines in total. The instructor guides step by step through the basic tasting technique. Wine tasting is not part of the exam at this level.
Exam
The WSET Level 1 wine exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions. At least 21 must be answered correctly to pass. We offer the opportunity to retake the exam at least twice a year.
